Turnbuckle Memories Vol.1

                                                     Turnbuckle Memories Volume 1

Turnbuckle Memories Volume 1 is a rather short disc coming in at a run time of 42min. This is part of a multi-volume set and is recently introduced by Dusty Rhodes with match announcing by Gordon Solie and Buddy Colt. I would give it a one-thumbs up as I found this for a good price.

The Black Ninja Vs. Prince Iaukea
This is a nice intro match featuring the Ninja(soon to be Great Muta) and his extremely on point mix of martial arts and acrobatic ability. All of the moves pulled off by the Ninja have a nice edge to them for the time period-you can tell he is in amazing condition. Iaukea is no slouch and pulls off some nice moves of his own, but the Ninja's skills are just too overwhelming to compete with. This match is before the Ninja was given the recipe for the "green mist" from the Shaolin Monks. You may recognize referee Bill Alfonso from his ECW fame(yes, the dude that had that annoying blow whistled).
HIGHLIGHT- High-Cross Body to Floor by Ninja                   MATCH RATING(1-10)-5

                                                       Hector Guerrero Vs. Lex Luger
Luger, early in his career-at a time when his ego wasn't quite as big as soon was to become. Luger puts on a pure power display in this one, handling Guerrero with one arm at times. Guerrero is experienced and pretty scrappy as well and manages to put up some offense(definite shades of Eddie Guerrero) to make it a decent match.
HIGHLIGHT- 1-Arm Body Slam by Luger                            MATCH RATING-4

Kevin Sullivan, Maya Singh & The Purple Haze Vs. Tony D'Amata, Jim Backlund & Mike Allen
This match starts out in pure chaos-it goes out to the floor immediately with Sullivan's team being the dominators. The utter beatdown is entertaining, but it is quite obvious who is going to come out on top of this bout. This match leads to an interview with the outspoken Sullivan and his band of weirdos. The highlight is pretty wicked though.
HIGHLIGHT- Clothesline by Singh                                         MATCH RATING-3

                                                    Kendall Windham Vs. Mark Benedict
The 6'7 Windham uses his technical ability to keep Benedict under control for most of the match. With no real height advantage, Windham simply outwrestles his opponent to put him over for the match.
HIGHLIGHT- High-Cross Body by Windham                          MATCH RATING-2

                                                            Ric Flair Vs. Barry Windham
This is a match that is joined in progress-apparently about 40min. have been spent already and probably shouldn't be listed on the DVD as an actual match. They only show a couple of minutes here, but it appeared to be a good contest where the finish is not shown here-was apparently shown to promote their upcoming match between the two.
No Available Rating as not Complete Match

Blackjack Mulligan Vs. La Amenaza Roja & The Marauder
This is a handicap match for the wild Mulligan. Mulligan catches an initial sneak attack, but that is all of the offense that is mounted against him. Mulligan manhandles both men like toys and moves on to other business.
HIGHLIGHT-Flying Elbow by Mulligan                                     MATCH RATING-2

OVERVIEW- This is an OK disc if you find it real cheap. It does show some of the future greats at their starting point. There are some unlisted promo/interview segments as well with the legendary Gordon Solie.
